OUR TEAM
Julia Morrison
Julia Morrison, co-founder of Wave Yoga Retreats, is a 200 hour registered vinyasa, hatha, and yin yoga and meditation teacher. Julia began her personal yoga practice while studying philosophy at the University of Connecticut, looking for a workout that would maybe add some zen into her life. Years later, Julia completed her first teacher training and dove deep into the philosophy and spiritual side of the practice in the direct lineage of Sri T. Krishnamacharya with Megan Mulrine. Since her initial training, Julia has since traveled to Bali, Indonesia with her teacher to study yoga through the Balinese Hindu tradition, and in March 2025 she will complete her 300 hour teacher training in Goa, India to further explore the roots of the practice.
Julia’s teaching style involves creative sequencing with a focus on the union of the mind and body through the breath. In her classes she blends yogic philosophy and elements of power and heat for an invigorating physical, mental, and spiritual experience.
Holly Coppes
Holly Coppes, co-founder of Wave Yoga Retreats, has been teaching vinyasa yoga for over two years with a style based in fiery and challenging flows. Holly began her yoga practice years ago as a way to get out of her head and into her body. You can expect anything from a spicy power flow to a juicy slow flow in Holly’s classes, always set to a killer playlist and filled with creative transitions for a new experience every time.
Megan Mulrine
Megan Mulrine spent the last decade living in Asia (first in Iwakuni, Japan, then in Bali, Indonesia for the past seven years) studying yoga philosophy, Buddhism, Hinduism, and various meditative practices. During that time, she trained more than one thousand yoga enthusiasts to become yoga teachers, leading teacher trainings for various schools in Bali and the US, including her own yoga school, Yogatrotter Academy.
Megan’s area of specialty is the Hindu gods and goddesses as they relate to yoga asanas and mantras. In Bali, she runs her yoga school at the retreat center of her teacher, the Balinese priestess Ibu Ati, along with kirtan artist Thia Moana.
On Wave retreats, Megan leads vinyasa and yin yoga classes in which she beautifully weaves in yoga philosophy and the stories of the gods and goddesses. She also leads various styles of meditation and workshops all deeply connected to the roots of the practice.
Vicky Cooley
Vicky Cooley was first introduced to yoga at a young age, having a fond memory of attending a yoga class and thinking to herself how fun it was to see adults engage freely in what seemed like play. Yoga has since become a necessary and beloved part of her life.
Initially, Vicky trained in Ashtanga Yoga, though she is interested in every style of yoga. She received her 200 hour teacher training through Ashtanga Yoga Puerto Rico in 2017. Vicky considers herself a forever student of yoga and Ayurveda, with a specific passion for anatomy, both physical and energetic. Vicky is an Ayurvedic Health Counselor and Certified Massage Therapist, drawn to the crossover between western and eastern science.
